"The hotel was very good very clean and suitably situated for our weekend. Breakfast was excellent! The only bad point was that the swimming pool was closed all weekend and on the hottest weekend of the year and with 2 children it was a major issue! We would’ve stayed at a different hotel with a pool if we knew, the hotel should’ve emailed me before we got there to say but nothing was mentioned until I’d paid for our stay!"

"Our stay was wonderful. Warm welcoming staff, where nothing was too much trouble. Our room was amazing, with a balcony to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. I would like to mention, a waitress with a pony tail, she was very efficient, seemed to know her job very well, and was a people person. Thank you to all the amazing staff, who, did not know this but made our Ruby wedding anniversary, and wonderful experience, and nice memories. "

"The Royal Maritime Hotel is in some ways quite old fashioned, but it has great charm. "A very comfortable stay with a great room on level 6 providing a view of greater Portsmouth (views of Portchester Castle). Great amenities in the room. Good gym with plenty of equipment though pool / spa was not in order and being renovated. Recommended for those with a vehicle as parking is available and close to main roads M27 etc. "
