"I stayed here for one night and I definitely got my money's worth. The bathroom and shower were shared with other guests but they were really clean. The food was also great although a bit expensive. The room was a bit shoddy, but I'm not complaining; the beds were clean, towels were provided, the TV had plenty of channels, and I had a sink in the room which made it a very comfortable stay. If I go back to Lugano, I'll probably stay here again"

Pension Gimmelwald is a great hotel, gives you a true mountain village experience. Rooms are spotlessly clean, staff is friendly and entertaining. Home cooked meals are fabulous. "We loved staying here. Easy check in and out. The kitchen was superb and the bar was a great place to be. The bar man was so friendly and chatty. The room was spacious and clean and even had a balcony. Great water pressure for the shower and very comfy beds. The location near the station was superb. Would definitely stay here again. "

"A very charming osteria / hotel in a hillside location. The route up was not for the faint hearted - narrow road with lots of switchback turns, but worth it. The room was modest, but with lovely terrace with mountain views. Evening menu was limited but food was excellent, followed by very pleasant walk around the quaint village. Overall, quite pricey but very relaxing overnight stay. "

"I have been to many places, but this was something else. The owner greeted me once I arrived, he didn’t speak much English but his daughter (?) helped me out. They are really nice people. The room I got was recently renovated, it looks modern and the shower was great. Unfortunately I couldn’t have a dinner there, because I arrived late, but there are many options around. Overall it was a great experience, nice breakfast and lovely welcoming family run business. I will definitely come back. "

"Nice appartement, its very pretty and the kitchen is fully equiped. Well situated in the centre of Tegna, the children took the train to Locarno while we went hiking and climbing in Val Maggia. Only minus point is the church bells, (you are in the centre of town!) but you get used to them after a couple of days. "

"Sauber, freundlich, bequem. Das Gemeinschaftsbad ist Geschmackssache, aber ich habe damit kein Problem gehabt. Ich habe hier sehr gut geschlafen und die Einrichtung ist sehr sauber. Nachts war es auch sehr ruhig und am Morgen habe ich allein die Kaffeemaschine gehört. Empfang war auch sehr angenehm und es gab keine Probleme. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen."
