"This would have been a grand hotel in its day, and it’s still a great place to stay, right across from the beach. The room had lots of space, a huge bathroom, and a comfortable single bed. The lobby, lounge and restaurant areas are all nice and welcoming, unlike many modern hotels that don’t seem to be set up for you to linger. Supper was very enjoyable, and the breakfast buffet had all of the usual hot and cold options. Staff were very friendly in the bar and restaurant. I would definitely go back. "

"Absolutely stunning. This hotel feels like it is at the ends of the earth, but it is so worth the effort to get there! Our room looked out on the North Sea with sweeping, gorgeous views. The staff was the best - all helpful. They suggested hikes in the area and pointed us to things the locals enjoy, making our stay even better. The restaurant was terrific - excellent food and staff. We loved everything about our stay and look forward to returning soon. "

"This was the best little hotel we stayed in while traveling through Scotland. I was skeptical based on reviews. But it was an efficient hotel. No frills, not fancy, older hotel. Could it use a renovation? Yes. Did it bother us? No!! It was clean. Restaurant was traditional. The staff was super sweet and treated us like family. Very understanding when the Texan had no clue how to turn on a radiator! 😂. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! The experience was worth more than fancy furnishings and glitz. We highly recommend!"
