I moved to this hotel from a bigger one nearby that did not have room for me for the last three days of my stay in Bangkok. I had the mid-range room - which was very small - a large mattress on a slightly-raised wooden platform, a bench on which two people could sit side by side, and a lttte bit of floor (and a closet and mini-bar fridge).
Bathroom was very small - no one over the age of about 6 could sit straigh forward on the toilet.. Water pressure was low. No hot water in sink (not a failure, just not provided at all - only one tap.)
But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly.
So if you just want a place to put your bags down and sleep, this can do. It feels safe and it is in the Khao San neighbourhood full of backpackers and the hostels and small restaurants (lots on the sidestreets) that serve them and the locals. An agreeable area to stroll in, again safe and friendly. (And if you want a "Jack Armani" suit, you can get one made around the corner from this hotel!)
If you need to work or read seriously, this is not the place for you, unless you can read or work in bed. The bench is not comfortable after an hour or so, though it's padded (as am I). There is not enough light to read a book. If you are reading a phone or computer or e-reader, no problem. I did some work one afternoon in the small restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel - part of the lobby of the building. That would not do at a meal time.
