"great place, lovely staff, great bar and restaurant , lovely rooms however my room number 3 was really small and way too hot , there was a fan but made no difference i would stay there again but not that room i would request larger cooler room, also i was woken early to banging outside as room faced on to the yard and the noise of next door room banging about in wardrobe"

"A picturesque inn, in a beautiful area. Staff made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped through the door. Throughout our stay, everyone was so helpful and friendly. Clean and tidy room with spacious bathroom. Meals were excellent. Chefs are first class and every meal cooked to perfection. Quality food. A hearty breakfast provided a great start to our days. "We can not fault anything, it was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in the gatehouse room which was incredible and extremely comfortable, the inn it’s self is so cosy and it’s definitely the friendliest inn that we have been in, the food was 10 out 10 the views from the beer garden where beautiful, the staff where so lovely and nothing is too much for them, they just want to look after you. "Comfortable king-sized bed with comfortable pillows. Clean room. Nothing fancy but it had everything we needed. Good food in the restaurant. Excellent stop along Hadrian's Wall. Friendly staff."

"Probably the best place I’ve stayed in a long time. The food at the pub is first class and home cooked, non of the usual pub clone food. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, bed was great and the shower was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend this place, I’ll be back. "
