No ice for drinks. A bottle of water was more expensive than a glass of wine. The owner of the hotel Alexandrio could speak English and French. Very nice man but not always available. Helped us out. "In spite of the other reviews I read I found the hotel to be in very good shape. Although it is an older property it look as if it had been recently painted and there were no damaged tiles anywhere I could see. The breakfast is continental plus scrambled eggs and the attendants were constantly checking and bringing out more items. The room is very small but good enough for a night before your cruise."

"The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We needed to contact them via messaging to arrange to be let in to the building. We were the only guests the first night which was a bit disconcerting but there was good security. The room was comfortable although finding outlets to charge our devices after a long flight was a challenge. The second night the street below was extremely noisy until 4 am. It was a Saturday and obviously party night. Otherwise it was a good place to stay before a cruise."

"Don't do it. The beds are awful (like sleeping on giant toothpics) that was the top of the mattress. The pillows are flat and you get one each. There is nothing on site or within walking distance. AND if you book through a third party like expedia dont plan on getting the room you paid for or have it come close to what it looks like on pictures. The property is dated and needs much tlc."

"Hotel Isola was a perfect start to our honeymoon. We had the sea front view which was exactly what was promised. Opening the window in the morning to hear the waves hitting the shore was fantastic. A few minutes walk from the beach and the piazza outside had many great cafes and restaurants. The concierge was helpful in telling us how to get to Santa Severa by public transit and also made nice espresso on the morning too. Would recommend this place!"

"You have to call to contact front desk staff for check in/exit. Staff were friendly. But it feels like a rooming house and is 30 mins from the port."

"Well, first of all the air-conditioning in Italy is controlled. And it was very hot in the rooms and they had no way of making it cooler. The breakfast was really good Overall, the staff were very unfriendly. It was like you were a bother if you ask them a question. The language barrier seemed to be a problem, but instead of trying, they just would not answer you or be rude. I would not recommend this hotel"

"While every aspect of the property was very nice and the owners were so welcoming I was disappointed with our room . The view out a very small window was not brilliant and if it was open it was far too noisy to sleep. I think it was not good value for the money "
