"My father and I just had a recent stay at Hotel Borg for three nights. We were very upset with the service from the housekeeping staffs looking after our room. When we first arrived to our room, we found out that our welcome fruit basket was empty. That was not what we expected to see at a (5-star?) luxury hotel (as stated on the hotel’s own website). "We visited in the summer, so it was light out all night. The shades worked well. Our room was very nice. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I wish we had more time to stay.
The hotel is much closer to the airport than it is to Reykjavik. This was not a problem since we had free parking for our rental car."

"The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet in the morning was also excellent.
The hotel itself is a bit secluded which I enjoyed, and the closest town, Selfoss, is about 15-20min drive so be mindful of that if you prefer to be somewhere that’s walkable to Selfoss. Overall it’s a great location. Very scenic and easy access to the Golden Circle and South Coast, and just 1-hour outside of Reykjavik if you want to visit the city."

"Hard to get used to the 'contactless check in'. No humans around. The apartment was adequate, but there were a few things that should be addressed. I needed to iron a dress, and, yes there was an iron, and an ironing board that would sit on a table. Except that there was nowhere in the apartment where I could plug in the iron and use a table for the ironing board! I would have to rearrange the apartment. Also, the outlets in the bedroom were only accessible by crawling under the bedside tables....
