"My father and I just had a recent stay at Hotel Borg for three nights. We were very upset with the service from the housekeeping staffs looking after our room. When we first arrived to our room, we found out that our welcome fruit basket was empty. That was not what we expected to see at a (5-star?) luxury hotel (as stated on the hotel’s own website). "Exceptional clean room and amazing breakfast buffet. Centrally located in Golden Circle area and just a few miles to Selfoss for gas and groceries. Just a note not much choice for dinner in the area but the hotel serves dinner for addtl fee. Hamburger was very good but I was more pleased with the breakfast. Good internet and the room was very spacious."

"This is a lovely hotel but two major concerns. First, is the very busy old town area with no parking provided by the hotel and extremely limited parking along the street. Second, is staffing in the dining area, at least during breakfast. Multiple tables not bussed, plates for items not washed/available, coffee run out and guests seeking refills. Finally someone arrived to tend to these things. But still some food items not replenished."

"Our needs as travelers were well anticipated and provided for. I very much appreciated how comfortable and at home I felt. We did not need to go out and purchase any basics in order to relax upon arrival: for example -- tea, coffee, salt, pepper, clothes drying rack, extra blankets, were available. Nice!"
