"Our stay was wonderful. The room was very nice with an ocean view. My only complaint was that I asked for a "curling iron" and they sent up a straightener which is just the opposite...and when I plugged it in it didn't work. Also employees did not know that a USB port for charging our cell phone was built in to the back of the bedside table lamp...they seemed surprised when we pointed it out to them upon checking out. Overall the Hotel was beautiful!!!"

"This was our second time staying at Beyt al Salaam. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From start to finish, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. People went out of their way to help us. The room was kept clean and serviced. There is a restaurant that serves delicious food. The hotel is conveniently located in a lovely part of Stonetown and near to the beach. What made this stay so wonderful was the staff at the hotel who are simply brilliant. Thank you!"

"Excellent location and overall great service. A few things can be improved given the price. - Breakfast is very bland and could use improvement—fresher breads (ideally baked daily), ripe fruit (two days I was there, the fruit served wasn't ripe), better training of the chef who makes omelets; they were often overcooked; have an option for adding cheese to the omelets which wasn't available. For $17, the breakfast was wanting. - The room was musty, likely related to the high humidity environment...

"Shoki Shoki House, Stone Town – Great Location but Noisy Night We stayed one night at Shoki Shoki House in Room 1 (Deluxe Double, Ground Floor) to explore Stone Town before heading to Jambiani. On arrival, we had to wait 20 minutes to check in as the room had just been sprayed for mosquitos. The reception staff were friendly, and the room was clean but basic, with a complimentary minibar as a nice touch. The biggest issue was noise at 3 AM, with loud banging and moving sounds outside our room,...
