We liked the location and did not mind making use of the local taxis to spend time in the town where there were plenty of excellent restaurants. The staff were first rate and we wanted for nothing. Only issue with staff is we had a house keeper walk into our room without approval at 9:30 in the morning. It was a little sketchy! Pool looked nice but never used! "What an excellent place to stay in Chania! We spent 6 nights at the Nostos and the location is great. It is right around the corner from the harbor and next to many shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The staff was always warm and welcoming and ready to assist in any way. The breakfast was a nice way to start the day especially when taken out on the bistro tables out front. There is a rooftop terrace that is shaded to enjoy as well. We couldn't have had a better experience!"

No review, however, can fail to mention the now-legendary George, whose family has owned this place for decades and who offers wonderful recommendations for restaurants and beaches and other not-to-be-missed sites.
