"We had a lovely time. From the moment we were greeted at reception on the first day till the day we left. Everyone was so nice and couldn’t have done enough for us. Our 2 dogs were made so welcome and our dining experience wasn’t reduced in any way because of them. Harriet should get a mention as nothing was too much trouble for her. "Very quiet, checkin was seem less, very easy and room was beautiful. I had booked a king and required it to be a twin, this was no problem and the ‘late maid’ setup the room perfectly! Highly recommend this hotel. "

"Very pleasant old style large hotel. Needs some updating, but room still comfortable enough though bath took a long time to fill. Good breakfast selection, no queues during week but on Saturday very busy - a popular wedding venue which also filled up the car parking. Lovely grounds with various activities for families and children, nice pool and leisure facilities. Dinner one evening was good but restaurant a bit bright and lacking ambience. "Little things would make a difference . I chose pay later , the full amount was taken with in days not months as exprected. 1 hand towel ! 2 people 3 days !! When requested it was supplied , shouldn’t have had to ask. 3 coffee sachets per day , 2 people ? Beautiful property Scottish castle style , above average accommodations, breakfast buffet. Great. Dinner menu. Burgers !!! Very disappointing . American tourists catered for . We therefore didn’t stay for dinner. 3 nights elsewhere . ...

"Two-night stay in April, Peebles is a small town and the Tontine is centrally located with ~10 parking spaces behind it. The staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and assistance with have some laundry done overnight. The included breakfast was excellent and filling. Would stay there again."

"Very friendly rooms above pub slap bang in the main street. Pretty laid back and jiust came and went as we pleased. Cat and all the staff were very friendly and helpful to us. Bar was great for a few drinks and the town is great with friendly people everywhere. Big bonus was Vale of Leithen won :-)"
