"Great for what we needed - overnight stay to break up the journey. Friendly staff clean rooms. I know it was budget hotel but room was smaller than expected. No bathroom as such but there was a separate toilet and then a shower in the wall. Would stay again if required for an overnight stop. "

"The staff were very helpful and friendly but were missing from front desk quite often and for extended periods so we had to wait to get issues resolved. It is in a convenient location, near several places to eat but it's not easy to walk into Pontypool as the main route is a dual carriageway. We had a room for three and my daughter said the pull out sofabed was very uncomfortable, it did appear to be collapsing. I'd stay again as a couple though. "

"We spent 4 nights at the Kings Head and it was a perfect place to stay. The newly renovated bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine and very roomy, and the breakfasts were delicious, especially the local sausages. Stepping into the bar was like going through a time portal into the 1600's: there was a cozy fire burning, low beamed ceilings, and pewter tankards hanging from hooks. The fresh local fish on the daily special's menu was superb. But best of all was the attentive, friendly service from...

"The setting is stunning surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds. A beautiful building, very tastefully decorated. Quiet and peaceful, great night's sleep. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. A shirt walk to the town. I would very highly recommend it."

"We wanted a place to stay for a short break with the kids. This place was very neat with a powerful shower, staff were really nice and the location was good for exploring Wales. There was a microwave on site and a McDonalds within a two minute walk from the room. The price was also quite affordable. "
