"Nice hotel but a bit dated."

"We stayed here for the ryokan experience and to visit the snow monkeys which we perfectly achieved. The dinner was a masterpiece with so many small dishes I couldn’t count. The staff were lovely and helped get us to the snow monkeys for opening time and arranged to collect us to drop us back to the station which was so appreciated."

"Our stay here in March 2025 was wonderful. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, even picked us up from the station without prior arrangement! The food was incredible, traditional Japanese breakfast that set us up for the day and a delicious dinner which when combined with the sake and very comfortable futons ensured a great night’s sleep. "Traditional Ryokan with many onsen baths. We had our own outdoor onsen which was nice but you could also use one of the other larger onsen by free reservation, these were great. Traditional Japanese meal for dinner which was lovely and very authentic feeling. Quite expensive."

"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. From the pickup at the station to the drop off at the Snow Monkey Park, to the “key” to the local Onsen circuit…this was a welcome reprieve from the crazy pace of Tokyo and Kyoto. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, dinner and breakfast meals were all amazing and the rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. I would go back in a heartbeat.
