"The room was very large. Lots of space and the bed was comfortable. Needed some extra pillows. Quiet. Good price and well placed for accessing Southend shopping and theatres. The carpets in the room could do with being replaced as many stains."

"It was our second stay at The Holiday Inn Hotel in Southend and it was excellent. Easy check in, all staff were friendly and excellent service. The room was a very good size and was spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with fabulous smelling toiletries. Everything you would need was in the room including a safe. The breakfast was excellent so much choice. Easy parking at the hotel cost £10.00 a night. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Amazing stay. Smooth check in where we were upgraded to a beautiful executive suite. Modern but still lots of character. Lovely pool, sauna and steam room. Polite staff and lovely food. Would happily return there "

"We really enjoyed our stay here. Host was excellent: knowledgeable and welcoming. Location was good, secluded enough but easy to get to all areas of the island. Food selection in kitchen was fab and available 24/7, never had that at a b&b before. Room comfortable and internet readily available too. "

"George the Owner was forthcoming, along with his staff made my stay comfortable and happy throughout so I like to congratulate this establishment and would recommend further to all that reads my review to stay there and what a beautiful building too looks over the Thames estuary beautiful to wake up to with the panoramic views from my room amazing. "A small single ensuite room and comfortable bed. Limited parking in front of property but parking available on rough ground behind property. Friendly staff and lovely restaurant. I got the room at a discount price which seemed fair price for the room. "

"This was an amazing demonstration of the best customer service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and attentive....with a special mention for the absolutely wonderful Jo. Gorgeous character inn with comfortable bedroom and plenty of peace and quiet. Right in the middle of what I described as the prettiest town centre in the UK"

Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch Hotel & Spa

"Just had a lovely stay. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we wanted. We had a great view of Brands Hatch and could even see a bit of the track. Easy parking and a short walk to the track. Breakfast was tasty with a great selection of fruit, cereals, croissants and cooked breakfast. We ate in the restaurant and bar. All our meals were delicious. I can especially recommend the ChitTikka Masala with naan bread and popadom. The staff were very polite accommodating. We mentioned to one guy in the restaurant that our room was a little cold and when we returned he’d arranged for a heater and it was switched on! "
