"The lake view is nice. The water is very high right now and so there is no beachfront (which is reportedly the case at most properties). Unfortunately, my room had no hot water (though they tried to turn it on??) and the wifi might as well be nonexistent. The Indian menu options at the restaurant are very tasty, however. Expectations should be kept in check."

"Sunbird Ku Chawe is situated high up on the Zomba Plateau - one definitely needs a car to get there. It has perfectly manicured beautiful gardens. Even though it was very hot the time that I was there, there is always a cool breeze as it is so high up! I loved my room with the views of the Zomba town & far off mountains such as Chiradzulu and Mulanje. Had a wet room and modern fixtures in the bathroom. "The Sunbird waterfront is a very nice modern property with very well appointed rooms. The restaurant is good – breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and polite. I was disappointed by the lack of a tourist activity program, and very ad hoc approach to this. Some of the prices I was quoted for boat, rides, or other accompanied activities were ridiculous.
