"It had many amenities of which I didn't even use for the one night stay but I would highly recommend it for anyone staying in town. It was within walking distance of restaurants and highlights of Auburn. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was the toilet was VERY low, lower than the height of the bathtub top and the bed was much softer than I'm used to but I am 67 with a bad back. Even so, I enjoyed my stay and would go there again."

"Price was good. Property is a bit run down. Lighting was bad and surfaces had not been cleaned including the table and floors. Staff were very helpful and the beds were very clean. New pillows are needed. We kept our shoes on. "

"This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a clean, no frills place to stay. The upgrades are nice and really create a comfortable space. The location was perfect for us to visit our Syracuse student and also to venture into Skaneateles. The owner provides lots of thoughtful extras that make you feel welcome and glad you came. Good old fashioned personal service which is refreshing in todays world. "

"Don’t let the location fool you. It looks to be outside of Skaneateles and technically that is true, but it is 5 minute drive next to the lake with beautiful homes, etc. The building itself is beautiful, old but with a lovely aesthetic. It feels homey, but one that an interior designer designed. From board games to an ice machine at the ready while in front of the fire…it was delightful. "The Gate is a hidden gem! Super clean, super comfortable, fantastic shower...everything was like new! This place was excellent for a couples weekend getaway. We really enjoyed having our own kitchen with the relaxing living space. A nice sized bedroom with the most comfortable bed ever!
