Lovely cosy but spacious pub/hotel in a historic village, conveniently near the A15. Comfortable bed, compact but high quality shower and excellent breakfast. (Note: staircase rather than lift, but no problem for us).

Excellent place to stay.
Glen the owner, and LeeAnn the Bar manager, etc. were incredibly friendly, responsive and truly nice people to meet. The area is somewhat off the beaten track, but it’s location in the market place square was perfect. I will stay there again.

We didn't eat at the George but the smell in the dining room made me wish I had. Proper home cooked smell, like walking into you Nan's kitchen. Service was excellent and the bed was one of the comfiest beds I've slept in, ever.
