"This was by far the best room we stayed in during our entire Scotland trip! It's a bit far and difficult to access Edinburgh if you don't have a car, we went to a car park half way there, and ubered into town. (I don't like driving in downtown Edinburgh, the pedestrians are crazy!) The restaurant is best for breakfast. It was calm and quiet. But the stairs! No elevator, so beware! "

"There are no words sufficient to express the degree to which we loved our stay at the Scott Hotel in Edinburgh. The staff are the nicest, warmest, most friendly people imaginable, and all catered to our smallest - and largest -requests! "We had a wonderful stay at The Scholar. The room was wonderful and very clean, the team was very polite and attentive (we received a wonderful hand written note as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch!). It’s a 30 minute walk from the old town but the bus stop is right outside the hotel with regular buses. There was no mini fridge in the room, although we didn’t need it. Would definitely recommend."

"Black Ivy is a lovely hotel in the center of Edinburgh right next to the Meadows. Its interior and exterior design is wonderful and artsy, with photography in the hallways and rooms. It's really a gem. Our room had a gorgeous park view out to the Meadows and onto the lovely skyline of Edinburgh. "Hotel was absolutely immaculate and the staff repeatedly went out their way to be helpful and accommodating. It was my partners birthday and the rooftop pool was fully booked. But reception managed to squeeze us in at the end of the night for half an hour, free of charge. We loved our stay and are already planning our next visit. "

"You all need to try their cream tea option at the restaurant. Tea with scones! Best scones ive had in my life. Ive been to many high teas in my life and this beats all. Every single bite felt like i was having an out of body experience. The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating to our needs. Very walkable to majority of the attractions and the view from the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely would stay again! "

"We booked for a short 5 day stay and were glad to realise it was such a close proximity to restaurants, souvenir stores, Victoria Street and the famous Edinburgh castle! The staff were friendly upon arrival HOWEVER we were told by one gentlemen that our room was not ready but to rest assure when it would be, we would have a wonderful view of the castle during our stay. When our time came to check in a women gave us our room but it was on the opposite end of the hotel so we did not get the view we were told. Still, a very clean, comfortable stay. There were some loud noises at night, assuming from other guests and some noise during the morning from tradesmen but overall the sister hotel/restaurant a minute walk down the road was pleasant. "
