"last minute booking… what a surprise! Beautiful hotel and location, excellent service. Some of the hotel is a bit dated but was nostalgic for me. Kinda like Hawaii 5-0 old series feel. "The hotel is dated as are the facilities. We made the mistake of selecting a smoking room, so our room smelled like an ashtray. It was difficult to determine cleanliness, because the furniture was old and the carpets were also old and stained. Transportation is extremely limited unless you want to ride a bike or walk. "Very cute rooms, the beds were private and spacious, bedding was very warm and comfortable (slept amazingly). I didn't get back in time for dinner but the udon for breakfast on the first morning was fantastic and I was serenaded by a lovely man playing Ghibli music and the beatles on a ukulele as I ate my cheesy bread on the second morning. Also, the free iced green tea was delicious. There were lots of helpful pamphlets in many languages about what to do and where to go, and the staff were helpful with recommendations and very kind and efficient in general. Lovely feel to the place and recommend!"
