"Staying at Public was a strange experience! The room was comfortable and even though very small (as is the norm in NYC), you could tell a lot of thought had gone into the design and maximising storage and hanging space. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. It’s the ‘open plan’ type of bathroom so I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing with someone I’m not in a relationship with! Very little privacy. "The boutique hotel stood true to it's name; small, intimate and quaint. It always smelt good, giving a "clean feeling" as you walk passed the lobby. The waiting area behind the check-in counter, just by the coffee shop, was big enough to accommodate a few, and small enough to keep a good conversation going. Check in was challenging - we were told only about 10 mins & we waited in lobby. Then after 45 mins of not being called, went back up to desk to find our room was ready. Frustrating after long day of flights. Hotel staff was nice & location was great. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a drink as the place seemed close...
