Bring your camera to Acapulco’s iconic amphitheatre and enjoy incredible panoramic views across the Pacific Ocean and La Quebrada Cliffs.

Discover Sinfonía del Mar, a hidden gem on a peninsula on Acapulco’s southwestern shores. Although this sweeping amphitheatre is located close to the heart of the city, it is often overlooked by tourists. Immerse yourself in spectacular ocean views in a tranquil setting.

Sinfonía, often simply called Sinfo by the locals, is owned by the city of Acapulco. In 2006, the amphitheatre and surrounding area were restored. Enjoy the fruits of this labour as you explore its many tiers. Ascend up 16 rows to the top for an aerial view. Walk down to the stage and examine its beautiful red sunburst inlay. Look for the mermaid and dolphin statue nearby.

Find the amphitheatre in the southwest corner of Acapulco, on the Pacific side of the Peninsula de las Playas. Look out across the open ocean to spot dolphins frolicking in the water. Turn your gaze to La Quebrada Cliffs, where the famous Acapulco cliff divers soar into the sea below.

Although it was built for entertainment, now the views have taken centre stage at Sinfonía. Time your visit around sunset, if possible. You will be rewarded with incredible views of the sun sinking under the Pacific Ocean. It also occasionally hosts concerts, plays and symphony performances.  The name translates to “Symphony of the Sea,” a fitting description whether the performers are human musicians or sea waves and winds.

Take a short hike down to Playa Angosta, directly below Sinfonía. Swim, snorkel or simply sunbathe at this small city beach.

You won’t find any food or beverage vendors at Sinfonía. Bring your own picnic to enjoy alongside the views or take a short walk to find provisions. Get freshly prepared seafood from the stalls at Playa Angosta.

Admission to Sinfonía del Mar is free. However, expect to pay a small fee to use the on-site restroom facilities. Find plenty of cabs around the entrance, especially just after sunset, when drivers know that there will be a higher demand. Make a 10-minute walk to La Quebrada Cliffs to see divers make their daring leaps into the sea.
