"Very nice traditional Japanese hotel within 5 minutes walking distance from the Tourist Information Center if you took the public bus. I stayed in a Japanese style room with ocean view and slept on futon laid on tatami. Dinner and breakfast were included in the room rate, and the food was pretty good (kind of in fine-dining style). They have shuttle bus service from and to Fukuyama Station so be sure to take advantage of it. The welcome drink that they serve when you check in was nice."

"This is an old merchant house that has been nicely remodeled as a hotel. It's smack in the middle of Tomonoura's historic renewal district. The room I had was spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed. This hotel requires some pre-planning: getting the shuttle bus from Fukuyama, making sure basic needs are met (no onsite staff, except at breakfast time). "Super close to the train station! Really clean and spacious room and bed. Bathroom is shared with just the people staying in the room. One thing to note is that (at least to my room) you had to go up a steep set of stairs, but the manager was kind enough to carry my bag all the way up!!!
