This internationally recognized world heritage site has been a focal pointof Turin since the 16th century and was home to the Savoys for much of their multi-centuryreign. Before you enter the grounds, look for the golden relief of Medusa onthe palace gates.

The palace features numerous apartments that overlook thegardens and piazza surrounding the building. Stroll through to get a sense ofEuropean aristocratic life and view the incredible artworks and piecescollected from around the world. To enter the palace, join one of the guided toursor go through at your own pace.

A highlight of any visit is the gallery of arms and armorfrom the 16th and 17th centuries. Complete suits of armor line the halls andadvanced weaponry from the era are on display as well. Move between the floorsto view numerous staircases built by renowned architects from Italy and acrossEurope. Marble and painted frescoes on high ceilings add to the palace’ssplendor.

Visit on a warm sunny day to appreciate the strikingcontrast of the white walls against a brilliant blue sky. Of course, the viewat night is equally magnificent. The palace is lit from the outside, making itseem like something out of a fairytale.

The palace is adjacent to the Turin Cathedral, home of theShroud of Turin. Go there to admire a replica of the Shroud, with the original cloth safely locked away for most of the time.

The Turin Royal Palace is open daily, except Mondays. The palace stays open until the early evening. Visitors can make their own way through orjoin guided tours, which run throughout the day.
