"The saving grace of the property was the young French lad who arrived in the morning. I don’t think it was even his day to work, but he came anyway. It is such a shame because the location was awesome. There’s so much potential here but the owner isn’t interested in bringing it up to standard. The room was okay, no bed bugs. But the rest of the place was dirty and woeful. They need to upgrade it to be worthy of customers. "

"What a find! The owners have combined their family heirlooms with modern facilities most charmingly in their farmhouse. Beautiful gardens and thoughtfully arranged outdoor spaces. A most sympathetic and friendly hostess. Our evening meal was home cooked with vegetables and fruit from their potager. This will be our default stopover and we fully intend to stay a few nights and explore the area by bicycle in the future."

"This was the third time we have stayed here. Just as lovely as always. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had very good choices and lovely homemade jams. Always served with a friendly smile. "The hotel is very suitable for anyone travelling from the UK by road to southern France or the Alps. The drive from Calais to Chalons-en-Champagne is less than 3 hours. The town is not too far from the motorway south. There is very well priced fuel available. The hotel is located in a very pleasant square. Whereas the hotel does not have a dining room (except for breakfast) there are several restaurants and bars in the square. The hotel has a limited amount of parking, but there is parking...

"Super welcome from the receptionist. Dog friendly and they made a fuss of him. We had a large room on the front of the property but it was very quiet. Right in the centre of town. "

"Do not be driven by the cover photo. This a working property and the rooms are above the office and working area. When work is over, no one is at the property. This is a very pedestrian stay. Our room was disappointing. The shower pan did not drain and my shower had to be cut short to avoid overflow. Our room door did not lock and once shut, it took the full force of my aging body to push it open. The main door to the building did lock however. The view was spectacular. We left early. "
