We couldn’t stay here as this place was nothing like the photos. We had to leave and find somewhere else. It was disgusting. The bed cover was stained the carpet was ripped and stained. The kitchen and bathroom were very dirty. The holes in the wall were roughly plastered. There was no heater or tv controls. This would be a terrible experience for overseas visitors to experience. How can this place be listed on Expedia!

Highly wouldn’t recommend staying here. This place is very unhygienic. Our bed had hair inside of it and there were holes in the bedroom walls. The bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. The room was putrid and smelt like a smoker had previously lived in there. I requested a refund which they denied. Very u happy as I refused to stay there after seeing the state of the unit.

When we got there we we sent to another motel they must also manage due to maintenance. The motel they gave us i had avoided purchasing because it looked substandard. We got put into this one.Looked like old block state housing with lipstick. Taps leaked in kitchen so we had pool of water on bench (electrical hazard), some electrical sockets didnt work. No air con so cold (block walls no insulation) had to use the portable heaters alot. Asked for a basenet for baby which didnt have a mattress. Smoke butts outside in our boxed off 2.5m2 lawn area. El chepo replastering of historical holes in walls. t The detergent was a h20 pump bottle. Booked the Setlers in lower hutt got moved to pacifica.

Broken locks on the windows, No TV working, no bedside lamp. We made a mistake signing for damage before inspecting the room which was already damaged [hole in bothroom door] and those things already mentioned

It was annoying to get to the motel and then find we had to walk 150m down the road to another motel to check in. This seems to be a permanent set up. Also only one pillow per head and flat pillows at that. Very clean.

There was nothing we liked about this property. There were trails of ants in the Kitchen we didnt have much food but in our bag where we had crackers chocolates nibbles etc there were many ants The bed was not comfortable linen was clean bed well made. Bathroom had alot of black mould in different areas. Only one chair to sit on at table an armchair very grubby.This is an honest opinion from an x Motel owner.We would not stay or recommend the Motor Lodge or stay ourselves again

The location situated close to the local settlers museum where we wished to visit, the beach and supermarkets all within walking distance. The motel itself presented well form the outside, inviting and old world. It was a reasonably comfortable stay though we found the beds uncomfortable and facilities in need of an upgrade.

I didn't expect there is no stove in the kitchen, it is a motel, there should be a stove, but there is nothing. One of the pillows was used, we found a hair on it. Heater in the shower is not working at all, The other heater in the room was weak, we asked for more blankets, He brought something I don't know what they call and it was disgusting. we didn't use it, we slept with our clothes adding another layer to it. Oh, by the way, there is no Reception in this motel, Yes, no reception. In order to check in, you need to go another motel close to this one. Wiered. 2 chairs there, both were dirty, I think they found it in the street.

The place felt abandoned. No reception at the property. Had to drive further up the road to a partner motel. Glad I didn’t arrive late as that motels reception closed at 9:00 pm. When I did check in there was no one at reception office. Had too wander around the complex and eventually fund a house maid. Not keen on re booking there.

The room was overwhelmed by an extremely pungent scent from some perfume sticks. It was so strong it felt like my lungs were burning. I had to air out the room for two hours before being able to relax. The beds, fittings and seats are all worn - to be honest they are beyond their life and need updating. The bed is actually concaved. Cleanliness was not good with signs of previous guests visible - hair and dirty kitchen floor. All the aluminium joinery needs new seals with sound and breeze coming through. To make matters worse, the cupboard which holds an ironing board and iron had a ceiling panel missing inside it - which allows air and a breeze to push and pull the cupboard door. Compared to other places I have stayed it was disappointing. To top it off it took me hours to settle down and ultimately meant I didn’t start the next day rested. The only aspect that was ok were the walls had been recently painted. I can’t recommend this property at the moment - the staff I met though were lovely and professional, it’s just a shame the property is so tired and not what I would expect - even for the price.
