The River Cruise was not a great experience. It was more of a taxi experience from one place to the other in which the buses was sufficient. Don’t pay extra for the River Cruise.

We waited a very long time for initial bus, then a very long time at each individual stop. The other bus companys has multiple buses come and go whilst we waited for a single bus. Drivers were short with us. And when I called to ask when to expect a bus after waiting 30 minutes, I was told I just needed to wait longer.

I went in search of the bus that would take me on a Hop-on Hop-off tour I had purchased. I was traveling alone, and was on foot. I am also disabled. After walking in the sun for 3 hours to try to find the bus, I was taken by ambulance after collapsing at a tube/bus station. I had stopped at numerous Hop-on Hop-off retailers during those 3 hours and I was told “Just down there on the right/left.” Which did little good as I was becoming less and less able to judge my surroundings.

Different prices for different people. Tour was okay in the morning but very slow in the afternoon because of all the traffic. Driver allowed too many people for number of seats, which doesn’t make sense if you want to listen to the commentary. Great way to explore the city for new visitors. I loved the half-covered second floor that was great for a typical cold and rainy day in London.

City Sightseeing covers a wide breadth of the City of London. That part is great. Getting on board and getting the ticket validated was easy. Traffic is heavy in London and to think this tour can be done in 2 and a 1/2 hours isn't realistic. It took longer than that to get half-way through. I don't blame anyone for that or for the fact the headphone operation was sketchy at best. I do think they need to work on the 20 minute break the drivers took without notice and without a bus ready to take off at the end/beginning of the route. Had it been - "get off of this bus and get onto that one," it would have been easy, but sit down and wait was frustrating. Also, they seemed to spend a lot of time picking up and dropping off ticket sellers instead of dealing with passengers on board.
