"We loved the idea of staying in a castle and that in itself was magical. We stayed in the Cromwell Suite which is big. The kids loved the extra room to roam. "We only stayed there for a night after seeing a play and I have to say it has exceeded our expectation greatly. The room is spacious. The bed is comfortable. And while it situated only a stone throw from Shakespeare's birthplace, it is very quiet. The in-the-room breakfast for a small fee is a very nice touch and we will definitely stay there again if we're in town. "

"Wonderful hotel and overall v restful. A couple of errors makes me give it 4 stars for this visit. Check in had to be later than they said, the tv system did not work correctly, they should pay for cable for the hotel vs just a basic free view, considering that people are paying v high prices to stay here and breakfast not served on time and missing items. Nice front desk staff and bed very comfortable. Nice historic features. The great hall is amazing. "

"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. "Great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was good quality and restaurant in the evening was good standard, unfortunately not the greatest sleeping experience. Stay in room 50, both nights experienced a repetitive banging noise around 1'oclock in the morning, lasted around 15 to 20 minutes. Assuming it was to do with the generator near the property."
