"It was an okay experience. The hotel is centrally located, a few minutes walk to the waterfront. The building itself is very beautiful. However the room might not be convenient for some travelers as the toilet is located above the bedroom and you need to climb steep steps to get there. WiFi is not free and the signal is not good at all. Robert, the assistant manager (I think) is very helpful and polite. "

Lianet the manager was excellent in communication and she speaks excellent English! Her tips about Havana were very helpful. Aleena and Daimara took excellent care of us. The breakfast was good but really expensive. There is an Ocean front area with nice restaurants just a couple of miles away. The center of Havana was about 15 minutes...

"We had a delightful stay at the hotel. Each and every staff member was friendly and helpful. The facilities are good and the hotel is beautiful and really well maintained. The cost reflects the high standards. There is a pleasant outdoor area and rooftop bar. The Vedado area is far less intense than La Havana Vieja and the hotel is certainly a walkable distance from many of the interesting sights, though in the searing heat, we'd advise a taxi to La Havana Vieja."

"We've just stayed at La Rosa de Ortega for a week. It was amazing! The area is really quiet, but still distinctively Cuban. For us, living in Havana Vieja would definitely not have been as relaxing as living a little bit outside of the main area. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes with a local Taxi to get to the main attractions of Havana. But you can easily spend a whole day staying at La Rosa de Ortega without going to the city.
