"This hotel is a gem. Right at the airport but quiet. Shuttling seemed silly but we did it and it was perfect after a couple of long flights - do it! Our entire experience was incredible. We were on a layover to the Galapagos so it was a super short stay but well worth it. And the continental breakfast is actually an incredible breakfast buffet. Custom omelettes, juicer, pastries, fruit, you name it - they offered it. I highly recommend staying here."

"When you get to the Equator you will be greeted by cockroaches at some point. Sadly there was a small one on one of the beds. Otherwise, the place was clean and the breakfast was fantastic. For the price, I was happy. "

"My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in a king bed room. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is older, the room was on the smaller side, but had a fridge and microwave. There is no tv in the room, but we didn’t really notice or need one. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. There is good wifi. "We loved Casa Gardenia, especially the kindness and friendliness of the family proprietors. We had a morning checkout prior to a midnight flight back to the US, but when I felt ill later (altitude plus maybe some suspect shrimp at dinner), they lent me a room, gratis, to lie down in all afternoon while the others went out in search of the Basilica and artisanal chocolate.
