"So it’s an older place. The stove needed updating (room 5 had a 1970 something stove that the burners barely worked on unless on high, which then set the smoke detector off. Also the oven would never heat up to use!) The beds are only full sized double beds and aren’t that comfortable. The rooms were very clean though. Room 9 was very nice but it was not an efficiency. "Brooks & Dawn took care of us over the weekend with a Multitude of Customer Services Second to None. We have been coming to Naggs Head Inn for the last 5-6 years and the Tradition will continue if their Services Remain the Same! We Love the Naggs Head Inn and their Staff and will be back next year. "The inn is a great spot on the water and walkable to anything you would want to do, see, or need in Manteo. Definitely make time to eat in the 1587 lounge. Great service and food..... that is saying a lot for us because we normally are biased to cooking ourselves and very rarely find restaurants impressive or worth returning to. Our meal here was both. "The hotel room was very clean and fresh smelling. And the hotel overall was kept very clean. I had a great view of the ocean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 5pm complimentary wine and cheese was nice. I liked that they had free beach chairs for use. The towels were nice a fluffy too. Parts of the grout and sealant in the bathroom were a bit dated. My only compliant were the pillows. They were lumpy and uncomfortable and if you don't like firm mattresses, you wont like the beds. "

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Nags Head Oceanfront

"We stay here because of the Tiki Bar.we could have stayed at a nicer more updated facility for close to the same amount, but having a Tiki Bar really does make this feel like a clarion. We like not having to drive or leave the premise once in awhile for food and drink. We are excited that there will be a second Tiki Bar this summer where the longer chairs used to be. The food is excellent and they have an excellent selection of wine, beer and spirits. We were in one of the rooms that hasn’t been updated it seems. Older faucet styles and sink, worn office chair and sloppy job with up keep as far as grout and other maintenance. The bed was comfortable as well as the linens. I would have liked to have had soup lessons especially since it was a double queen oceanfront room. We usually stay here two to three times a year in a King Ocean Front. There were none avail e for a short weekend stay. That was disappointing as often as we stay here. I don’t know if we are signed up for Wyndam rewards but we should be I guess. I wo der if that would have made a difference. New air conditioner units by Trane were welcomed compared to the noisy old ones from last year. We could actually hear the ocean WITH the air conditioner on. It would be nice of there were an option for a walk in shower. I almost tripped stepping over the tub. This place would be 9-10 stars if they offered that. I prefer a K-cup coffee maker do the ground don’t get into your cup. All in all, it still is our favorite."

"Our family (kids 11 and 8 yrs) had a wonderful time. Can’t beat the location or view of the beach. 2 mile walk to town, if you bike, it would take you 10 min. The place was very clean. My kids loved the game room and being able to walk right out to the beach. They were disappointed the pool was under construction, but it is the off season. I appreciated a free laundry facility and having simple kitchen supplies. The place it dated, but it’s like visiting your grandma. If you do have any issues with mobility or have babies you have to carry, I can see where getting up to the condos and to the beach would be an issue. We had a 10/10 time and plan to be back next year. "

"Really nice property, only reason I did not rate excellent for all is that they are on the tail end of renovating the property. The only negative is that the main doors are not locked and anyone can walk in, it appears they have it set up for key cards to be swiped to enter but during my stay, I never had to use as the doors were always unlocked an open, which I did not like.Other than that, it is a very nice place to stay and has great amenities available. "
