"We have stayed at Braid Hills Hotel on several occasions as it is conveniently located for visiting family members who live a 10 minute walk away in Morningside. The free parking is an import factor in our selection of this hotel. We also like the fact that should we wish to go into the city centre there is a frequent bus service right outside the hotel. The hotel is a little dated and would benefit from some refurbishment, but the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and bathrooms function...

"Lovely modern hotel. Nice bar and restaurant. We weren't very hungry when we arrived but wanted something to eat. The selection of sandwiches was good and the ones we had were very tasty. Good selection of food at breakfast. Hotel was approx 35-40 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, with a few things to look at along the way. There are bus stops nearby, but we choose to walk. All the staff we had dealings with were very friendly and helpful"

Getting to the city activities took 30 minutes, but I'd take the peace and quiet here over being in the middle of everything, anytime. My only regret is that I didn’t get to take advantage of the Spa services. I plan to go back to Scotland next year and I will be staying at Norton House. "

"Very nice rooms, although the hotel is very badly let down by the fact that the night/emergency light next to the bed is left on throughout the night and so unable to get any sleep. We raised this with the hotel staff who said that they were aware of the problem and had reduced the strength of the light but couldn't eliminate it altogether. This was far too bright and therefore we did not get any sleep for two nights. "
