Explore all four floors of the Westlake Center, browsing the latest in brand-name fashion and searching for deals at local retailers. After tiring yourself out in the shops, unwind in one of the numerous restaurants and cafés in the mall.
The multimillion-dollar retail pavilion opened in late 1988 and is today part of Downtown Seattle’s thriving shopping scene. Seek out high street fashion sales in multiple stores that dress Seattle’s trendy population. Pick up bargains on health and beauty products and search for house accessories in homeware shops. As well as familiar brand names, the mall also hosts local business that sell toys and gifts.
Visit the center during holidays to see it decorated in festive colors and lights. The Westlake Center Tree Lighting is an annual tradition which takes place outside the mall in the run-up to Christmas, ushering in the festive period.
Go to the third floor where a large food court offers multiple dining options that reflect Seattle’s cosmopolitan population. Choose between classic American snacks, as well as food from Korea, Japan and other parts of the U.S.
Wander around Westlake Park, a spacious plaza opposite the mall that is ideal for relaxing after hitting all the stores. Let the kids enjoy the children’s play area and marvel at the decorative fountain.
Set aside time to go sightseeing in the surrounding area. The waterfront, about 15 minutes’ away on foot, features the Seattle Aquarium and the Great Wheel. The Seattle Art Museum, directly south of the center, displays celebrated works by artists from all around the world.
The Westlake Center is in Downtown Seattle, just over 5 minutes’ walk away from the famous Pike Place Market. The Seattle Center and the Museum of History and Industry are both under 30 minutes’ away on foot. Find metered parking in the adjacent Office Tower. The center is open daily into the evening, although individual shop hours may differ so check ahead before you go.
