"This hotel is great and we couldn’t fault our stay until check out time..... we had already paid for the hotel prior to our stay yet we were asked to pay again for the room! Apparently the hotel has recently changed hands and there is some issue with the accounts transferring over so the hotel isn’t currently receiving the payments people are paying ( going to the old company). "Our stay at The Grand was lovely, we hadn’t been to York for a few years but the standard of the hotel hasn’t changed. For us it is the only place to stay in York with an excellent location for the city and station of arriving by train. The staff are so welcoming and special mention to Wayne at the entrance he is a credit to the hotel, so welcoming to everyone! Our room was gorgeous and very clean and very quiet at night. Overall a lovely stay and we will stay agin next time we are in York! "
