"Visited for one night and we were both very impressed for the price. The staff were all friendly, the room was nice and clean. We stayed DB&B and the breakfast was lovely from the buffet. The evening meal was at The Fat Abbot and this was also really good. Following the meal we sat in the bar at the hotel and ennjoyed a drink in front of the open fire. Liked it that much we are having another night next week."

"The hotel was one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in! Several friends have requested details of the hotel, we have praised it that much! We found the staff very friendly. The hotel itself has a warm and cosy feel and the decorations make it extremely relaxing. Our room was decorated beautifully and exactly to our taste. There was lots of restaurants on the way from the hotel to the shambles. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return! "

"This hotel is great and we couldn’t fault our stay until check out time..... we had already paid for the hotel prior to our stay yet we were asked to pay again for the room! Apparently the hotel has recently changed hands and there is some issue with the accounts transferring over so the hotel isn’t currently receiving the payments people are paying ( going to the old company). "The Milner is a beautiful building, and the service and room were very nice. Strangely, they only have a few OTA channels with no guide on the TV. I didn't visit York to watch TV, but it's relaxing after a day's walking."
